Recently, I joined with 62 other members of the Kentucky House to send a letter to Obama detailing coal's importance to the Kentucky economy and our nation's energy future.
In 2010, Ky coal was a $10 billion industry and employed 42, 078. Each 100 coal jobs were estimated to create 120 other full or part time jobs.
Coal works. As we work toward energy innovations, coal will be what enables us to be successful.
Kentucky coal = Kentucky jobs. That's pretty plain talk. Even the guy in the oval office ought to be able to understand it. Mr. President, back the hell off Kentucky coal!
